This Indenture made the first day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty between Christian Martin and Elizabeth his wife of the one part and David Martin and Elisha Martin of the other. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and forty dollars of lawful money to them in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged they the said Christian Martin and Elizabeth his wife have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell unto the said David Martin and Elisha Martin all the rights title and interest of the said Christian Martin being one full seventh part in and to a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres of which the late Andrew Martin dec'd possessed lying and being in the county of Russell on the waters of Cedar Creek a branch of Clinch River which said tract of land descended to the said Christian Martin and other joint parceners of the estate of said dec'd and is bounded as follows to wit.
Beginning at a mulberry and two sugartrees saplings on the top of a ridge and corner to Fleming Burk's land with said Burk's lines S. 48 W. 39 poles to a lynn and ??? in a rich hollow N. 55 W. 84 poles to a white oak dogwood and sugartree sapling on the end of a ridge S. 74 W. 84 poles to two large buckeyes near the mouth of a sinking branch N. 83 W. 81 poles to two hickory saplings and a sugartree thence leaving said Burk's lines N. 14 E. 87 poles to a large Spanish oak white oak and cherry tree sapling on a line of Joshua Redwine's and with his line N. 50 E, 80 poles to a mulberry ash and hickory by a rocky sink hole then leaving said Redwine's line S. 74 E. 29 poles to an ash and two hickory saplings corner to the land of Robert McReynold's dec'd and with a line thereof S. 81 E. 100 poles to a sugartree and double cherry tree on a brushy spur and leaving said line N. 80 E. 77 poles along said spur to three white oaks on the side of the same S. 8 W. 128 poles crossing the spurs of a large ridge to the beginning. To have and to hold the said one seventh part of the said tract of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto them the said David Martin and Elisha Martin and their heirs forever to the only use and behoof of them their heirs and assigns forever and the said Christian Martin and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do covenant and grant to and with the said David Martin and Elisha Martin their heirs and assigns by these presents the said one seventh part of the tract of land aforesaid free from the claim of them the said Christian Martin and Elizabeth his wife or either of their heirs and all and every person or persons whomsoever shall will and do warrant and forever defend. In testimony whereof the said Christian Martin and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the date first herein written.

Russell County to wit
We William Price and George W. Johnston Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Christian Martin a party to a certain deed bearing date on the 1st day of September 1830 and hereto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Russell in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under our hands and seals this 1st day of September 1830.

Russell County to wit
We William Price and George W. Johnson Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Elizabeth Martin the wife of Christian Martin parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 1st day of September 1830 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and being examined by us privately and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the said Elizabeth Martin acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she had Willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it. Given under our hands and seals this 1st day of September 1830.

Christian Martin and Elizabeth his wife parties thereto was produced to me in the Clerks office of Russell County on the 7th day of September 1830, and admitted to record.
