This deed made this February 13th 1892 between R. C. Meade and Ellen his wife of Scott County State of Virginia of the first part and John A. Hall of the County of Russell of the second part.
Witnesseth: That the said R. C. Meade and his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $415.00 Four hundred and fifteen dollars. The party of the first part do grant, bargain and sell unto the said John A. Hall the following tract or parcel of land to wit: and bounded as follows:
Beginning at a stake at the ford of the creek above the Mitchell Sexton house a corner of Sarah Salyer’s dower also a corner of Polly Salyer’s lot with a line of said lot leaving the dower N 68 ½ W 151 poles to a locust leaving Polly Slayer’s lot N 42 E 89 poles to a chestnut stump on a line of the old Salyer’s deed. With lines thereof S 29 E 72 poles to a dogwood, sourwood and chestnut, S 50 E 44 poles to a black oak (gone), S 13 E 3 poles to a gum and chestnut (gone), S 47 E 27 poles to a birch and chestnut (both gone) now a stake by a sugar tree on the west bank of the Grassy Creek with corner to Sarah Slayer’s dower with a line of said dower. S 31 W 14 poles to the beginning containing 44 acres more or less and being the same land conveyed to the said Solmon Salyers, by T. M. Alderson special.
Commissioners by deed bearing date this 16th day of April 1884 second tract hereby conveyed to the said party of the second part is the said Solomon Salyer whole and entire undivided interest as one of the heir’s of John Salyer’s deed together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging and the said R. C. Meade and Ellen his wife warrant generally the title to said and hereby conveyed against the claims of all persons whomever.

I, Jacob Meade, a Justice of the Peace do certify that R. C. Meade and Ellen his wife whose names are signed to the writing above bearing date the 13th day of February 1892 as acknowledged the same before me.

In the Clerk’s office of Russell County Court the 4th day of September 1902, the foregoing deed from R. C. Meade et. to John A. Hall bearing date the 13th day of February 1892 was this day presented in the Clerk’s office aforesaid and with the certificate of acknowledgment, annexed thereto, admitted to record.
