This deed of five parts made this September the 20th 1895, between Nancy Skeen, Carrie Hall wife of William Hall, Bettie Hall wife of John Hall, the heirs of Sarah Jessee here represented by Thomas Jessee father and guardian of said heirs, and Jacob Castle the purchaser of Fielden Skeen interest, all of whom are heirs of Rebecca Skeen deceased, wife of Armstrong Skeen, and equally interested in certain tract of land lying in Russell County on both sides of top of Copper Ridge containing 126 1/2 acres which was left the said Rebecca Skeen by the will of her father Fielding Isaacs deceased. Witness: That in consideration of the above named facts it is hereby agreed between each and all of the above named parties that a partition of the said land shall be and hereby made as follows:- That is to say 1st the said Nancy Skeen, Carrie Hall, Betty Hall and Thomas Jessee guardian for the heirs of Sarah Jessee, doth agree and grant unto the said Jacob Castle with covenants of general warranty for his one-fifth interest purchased by deed of Fielding Skeen lot No. 1 bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake in a hallow and line of said Castles other lands and with a line of lot No. 3 assigned Carrie Hall N15W. 18 poles to a stake by the fence at the corner of orchard lot thence with a line of lots Nos. 4 and 5 herein after deeded Nancy Skeen N66-1/2 W. 55 1/2 poles up hill and hallow to stake on a hill corner to lot No. 2 and with it S 42 1/2 W75 1/2 poles to stake by a hickory corner to Lowrey Hawkins one acre tract and with same S60E 18 poles to a chestnut in said Castle line thence N 75E95 poles to the beginning containing 23 acres more or less. 2nd and the said Jacob Castle, Carrie Hall, Betty Hall and Nancy Skeen hereby grant unto the heirs of Sarah Jessee deceased as their equal share with covenants of general warranty lot No. 2. Beginning at a stake on the hill corner to lot No. 1 and nos. 4 and 5 and with a line of latter N55 1/2 W, 39 poles to a stake in Thomas Belcher’s line and with line of same and William Jessee S37W53 1/2 poles to a poplar corner to Jeff Mead and with his line S30W26 poles to a chestnut and dogwood S35E22 1/2 poles to a stake corner to the Lowery Hawkins 1 acre tract and with same line of lot No. 1 N42 1/2 E 86 poles to the beginning containing 17 acres more or less. 3rd and the said Jacob Castle, Betty Hall, Nancy Skeen and Thomas Jessee guardian for heirs of Sarah Jessee deceased doth grant unto the said Carrie Hall with covenants of general warranty for her equal interest in said land lot No. 3 bounded as follows. Beginning at stake corner of orchard lot corner to No. 1 and No. 4 and 5 and with lines of the latter S75E7 poles to an apple tree N11 3/4E16 poles to a small black locust on west side of spring branch N6E20 poles to a stake in the road thence up a hallow and path N26E14 poles to stake in path N1E38 poles to right lands bar post on north side of public road thence with the road N85E39 3/4 poles to a poplar corner to Cris Williams and with his lines S10E66 poles to chestnut and gum S25E22 poles to a chestnut stump S38W4 poles to two white oak stumps S75W69 poles to a stake in said Castles line N15E18 poles with line of lot No. 1 to the beginning containing 29 acres more or less.

4th and the said Jacob Castle, Betty Hall, Carrie Hall and Thomas Jessee guardian of Sarah Jessee’s heirs doth grant unto the said Nancy Skeen lots Nos. 4 and 5 laid off together with covenants of general warranty, she having purchased Betty Hall’s interest in consideration of the sum of $ the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged by the said Betty Hall and is bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake at lower corner of orchard lot, corner to lots Nos. 1 and 3 N66 1/2 W55 1/2 poles up the hill and hallow to stake corner to lot no. 2 and with same N55 1/2W39 poles crossing road to a stake in line of Thomas Belcher and with same S37 1/2W95 poles to a black oak poplar and hickory N70E48 poles to a black and white oak corner to Henry Dickinson and his line S40 1/2E66 poles to a poplar on top of the ridge corner to Cris Williams and lot No. 3 and with lines of the latter S85W39 1/2 poles along the road to a bar post on north side of road S1W38 poles to a stake in path and hallow S26W14 poles to a stake in path S6W20 poles to a black locust on west side branch S11 3/4W16 poles to an apple tree N75W7 poles to the beginning containing 55 acres more or less.

Isaacs a Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid do certify that Nannie Skeen, TB Jessee, Carrie Hall, Jacob castle and Betty Hall whose names are signed to the deed herewith attached Bearing date September the 20th 1895 each personally appeared before me in my County and acknowledged the same to be their free act and deed. given under my hand and Seal this March 21, 1898.
