William G. Cameron, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia; To all to whom these presents shall come - Greeting: Know ye, that in conformity with a survey made on the 10th day of April, one thousand eight hundred and 85 by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 30,561 there is granted by said Commonwealth unto Charles W. Johnson and James J. Bays a certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing thrity two acres lying and being in the county of Russell on the north side of Clinch Mountain between lines of Benj. E. Johnson Smith land and his Chapman land and Dr. Charles W. Johnson Cotton place land (Rock Corner) and bounded as follows, to wit;

Beginning at a Sugar tree Stump on a west hillside a corner to said B.E. Johnson and Charles W. Johnson and with B.E. Johnson’s line N30° W97 poles to a rock corner to B. E. Johnson’s Smith land and his Chapman’s land and with the line of the latter S16° E194 poles to a buckeye in a small hollow on the Flemming line which is also Charles W. Johnson’s line and with his line N69°E54 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Charles W. Johnson and James J. Bays and their heirs forever.

In witness whereof the said William G. Cameron, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the 15th day of Oct in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 85 and of the Commonwealth the 110th.
