In the name of God Amen, I Edmund Hubbard of the County of Russell and State of Virginia, being sick in body but of sound mind, do hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, that is to say: First, I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my property and that the residue of my estate shall be for the support of my wife Delphia Hubbard and her children now living. And lastly, I hereby appoint Wilson Cox executor of my last will and testament. In witness whereof or hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 1st day of January 1854.

At a court held for Russell County at the courthouse on Tuesday the 7th day of February 1854.
This instrument of writing was exhibited in court as and for the last will and testament of Edmund Hubbard deceased, and proven by the oaths of Alexander McFarlane and John Belcher two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on motion of Wilson Cox executor therin named who made oath and together with Randolph Hubbard his security, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $300, conditioned according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining probate of the said will in due form.
