The last Will and testament of George Grizzle of the County of Russell and state of Virginia.

I George Grizzle, Considering the uncertainty (sic) of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following.

First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth all my real and personal Estate to have and to hold so long as she lives and remains my Widow.

Second I give and bequeath unto my eldest son William J. Grizzle the tract of land on which he now lives lying on the waters of the harrican (sic) fork of Dump's Creek and known as the Harrican (sic) Survey for which he now holds a deed.

Third I give unto my son Solomon H. Grizzle my claim on the Stagger hollow land on the waters of Dump's Creek for which land he now holds a deed.

Forth I give and bequeath unto my son George W. Grizzle a parcel of land on Dump's Creek beginning at Solomon H. Grizzle's line at the mouth of the Stagger hollow and running up the creek to the mouth of a certin (sic) ditch and with said ditch to the foot of the hill then up the point the same direction of the ditch to the top of said point thence with the top of said point to the high top known as the head of the Salley Hollow and from thence to the divide at the back line to have and to hold so long as he lives and then go to his surviving heirs.

Fifth I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary J. Grizzle a tract of land lying in the big ridge between the lick and larel (sic) branches on the waters of Dump's Creek.

Sixth: I give and bequeath unto my son Elam Grizzle, two hundred dollars to be paid out of my Estate within two years after the death of me and my widow.

Seventh I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Grizzle the remainder of my land on Dump's Creek from George W. Grizzle's line to Elam Grizzle's land to have and to hold so long as she lives and then go to her surviving heirs.

Eighth, I give and bequeath unto my son Lorenzo D. Grizzle my home tract of land with all of its appertinances (sic), and I hereby appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth Grizzle, Sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the 26th day of March in the year of our lord One thousand Eight hundred and Eighty six.

The above instrument consisting of one Sheet, was now here subscribed by George Grizzle, the testator in presence of Each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and testament and we at his request Sign our Names hereto as attesting Witnesses.

At a County Court begun and held for Russell County at the Court house, thereof on Tuesday the 8th day of April 1896. The last will and testament of George Grizzle, decd. Was this day produced in court and proved by the oath of Joseph Breeding one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto, who testified that he witnessed Said Will at the request of the testator and in his presence and in the presence of Stephen Smith the other Subscribing witness thereto, where upon Said Will was admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded.
