In the name of God Amen. I Hugh McClung of the Borough of Strasburg, in the County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding; and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, viz: principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul unto the hands of God who gave it; and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and christian like manner, at the discretion of my executor, herein after named; and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner, to wit:
I give and bequeath unto my niece Jane, intermarried with Jacob Strickler, all that certain farm or tract of land, situate in Lampiter township, and now in the ___ of John Davis; and all the rents, issues and profits arising or accruing therefrom, during her natural life; and after her death, when her youngest child shall have arrived at lawful age, it is my will, and I do hereby order and direct, that the said farm be sold, and the amount of the purchase money, divided equally amongst her heirs, or their legal representatives.
I give and bequeath unto the five children of my niece Martha, who intermarried with Nathaniel Watson, fifteen thousand dollars in stock of the Farmer's Bank of Lancaster, to be diveded equally among the said five children, viz: Eliza, Jane, Margaret, Mary and Rachel, share and share alike.
I give and bequeath unto the two children of my nephew Charles McClung, dec'd, viz: Catherine and Martha, the sum of three thousand dollars each.
I give and bequeath unto my nephew Hugh McClung of the State of Tennessee the sum of ten thousand dollars.
I give and bequeath unto by niece Jane, (intermarried with Jacob Strickler aforesaid,) her heirs and assigns, all that certain house and lot of land whereon I now live situate in the Borough of Strasburg. I also give and bequeath unto the said Jane her heirs and assigns, a hill lot of land containing about ten acres, situate in the township of Strasburg aforesaid.
And as touching all the rest, residue, and remained of my estate, real and personal, of what kind or nature soever the same may be in the County of Lancasterforesaid, or elsewhere, I give and bequeath the same unto my brother Charles McClung of the State of Tennessee.
And lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my trusty friend Jacob Strickler above named to be the executor of this my last will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies and bequeasts by me heretoforemade, and declaring this and no other to be my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this fifth day of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.

On the 20th day of November anno domini, 1830, Before me the subsciber, personally appeared Jacob Hoover and George Hoffman Esq's. the subscribing witnesses to the preceeding will, who being duly affirmed according to law, did severally declare and say, that they were present and saw and heard Hugh McClung, the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce, and declare the same, as and for his last Will and Testament, and that at the dring thereof, he was of sound and well disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief. Be it remembered, that on the 20th day of November, anno domini 1830, The last Will and Testament of Hugh McClung, deceased, was proved in due form of law, and letters testamentary thereon were granted to Jacob Strickler, the executor therein named; he having been duly affirmed according to law, well and truly to administer the estate of the said deceased; especially to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof, into the Register's office at Lancaster within one month, render a just and true account of his executorship on said estate in one year, or when thereto lawfully required; and that he will diligently and faithfully regard, and well and truly comply with the provisions of the Act of assembly relating to collateral inheritances. At a Court held for Russell County, at the Court House, on Tuesday the 20th day of August, 1836.
This copy of the last Will and Testament of Hugh McClung deceased, duly authenticated, was exhibited in Court, and with the certificates endorsed thereon ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Edward Fulton who made oath according to law, and with Charles S. Bekem his security, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $1000 conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the estate of the said Hugh McClung deceased with the said copy of his will annexed in due form.
