In the name of God, Amen I James Wheatley of the county of Russell & State of Virginia being weak in body but of sound memory blesed be god do this eighth day of march in the year of our lord 1801 Make and bublish this my last will & testiment in manner following that is to say first the claim of land & the movable property I now live to be to my wife Elisabeth Wheatley during her widowhood for the seporte of her childring after the death of my wife Elisabeth of after the said elisabeth should marry again I also give all the above mentioned land and property to be equally divided between my wife Elizabeth nine least children except that my son Joseph Wheatley to leave one dollar allso my son Custis one dollar allso my son Abel to have one dollar allso my son Richard one dollar allso my son Jessey one dollar allso my son James one dollar allso my daughter Leah owing one dollar allso my daughter Priscilla one dollar and I make my loving wife Elisabeth overseer of this my will to thake care and see the same preformed accodering to my true intent meaning & for ther pane I gave to them & in witness hereof the said James Wheatly have to this my last will & testament set mt hand & seal the day and date above written signed sealed and delivered by the said James Wheateley and as for the last will & testament in the presents of us who were present at the signings & sealings thereto.
