Executed 05 Mar 1856

The last will and testament of James Williams of the county of Russell and State of Virginia, I, James Williams, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, first I give and bequeath unto Joseph Hascue Williams one bay mair (mare). Item if any increase from the afore named mair (mare) said increase is to belong to Nancy Jane Williams. Item to my three sons, Charles Williams, Andrew Williams, and Stephen Williams, and my daughter Jane Lucus, each to be paid one dollar which said severel legacies or sums of money, I will and order to be paid to the said respective legatees within six months after my decease and lastly all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate goods and chattels of what kind and nature serves, I give and bequeath the same to Charity Williams whom I here by appoint sole executrix of this my last will and testament in witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this July 31, 1852.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was now here in subscribed by James Williams the testator. In the presence of each of us and was at this same time declared by him to be his last will and testament and we at his request sign our names here to as attesting witness.

At a court continued and held for Russell County the 5th day of March 1856 the last will and testament of James Williams deceased was proved in court by the oath of Calhoun Davis and Holden Davis two of the subscribing witness there to and ordered to be recorded. Test
