I John Vincell of Russell County and State of Virginia do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
1st, I desire that all my personal property be sold immediately after my decease, and out of the monies arising thereof, all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. I give one half of the remainder of the above mentioned monies to the heirs of my son Henry Vencill and the other half to the heirs of my son George Vencill, except five dollars which I give to my son William Vencill, and five dollars which I give to my daughter Betsy Horton. I give the above mentioned monies to the above mentioned children and their heirs forever.
2nd, I give to my wife Nancy Vencill a good & sufficient support out of the proceeds of my home farm, and her home shall be at my personal residence during her natural lifetime.
3rd, I give to my daughter Mary Payne a piece of land, a part of the west end of my home farm said piece or parcel of land is supposed to contain thirty or forty acres. I want a line commencing at a white oak corner between my land and Wm. A. Stuarts on a hill east on SE of Thomas Payne present residence, running due south until the line gets opposite the poplar corner, between my land and E.R. Baylors land and from that place straight to the poplar corner, and all that portion of my home farm lying west of the above mentioned line I give to her and her heirs forever.
4th, I give to my son John Vencill and daughter Nancy Vencill the remainder of my home farm, and it is to be equally divided between the said John Vencill and Nancy Vencill equally according to quanity and quality, and they are to take good care of and support my wife Nancy Vencill during the remainder of her natural life, and the said land I give to the said Nancy Vencill and her heirs forever.
5th, I give to my daughter Margaret Taylor my farm lying on the north side of Clinch Mountain in Russell County State of Virginia containing one hundred and twelve acres by survey. I give said farm to Margaret and her heirs forever.

At a court begun and held for Russell County at the courthouse thereof on the 6th day of April 1875. The last will and testament of John Vencill Sr. was this day produce in court and proved by the oath of S. Albert and John G. Herndon two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
