In the name of God I John Vint, now of the County of Russell and State of Virginia, being of sound mind and disposing memory, and being mindful of the uncertainty of the duration of human life, do hereby make, declare and publish the following on my last will and testament that is to say.
1st, I will and devise all my estate both real and personal of any kind, whatsoeven with which it shall be seized or possessed at the time of my death to Col. Harvey Gray, his and his heirs Vc of the County of Russell and State aforesaid, to have and to hold the same to himself and his heirs forever. I trust nevertheless, that the entire property hereby willed and devised, is to be leased, loaned or rented for such periods and on such terms as may seem best, and the yearly issues of the same after reserving a fair compensation for trouble expense Vc to the trustees to be paid over to George Vint, my nephew of the Idle, in the parish of Calvary, in the County of York in England, his heirs Vc, or their order.
2nd, I hereby make, constitute and appoint the said Gray, the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me made. In witness whereof I hereby set my hand and affix my seal this 10th February 1840

Virginia to Wit
At a Court of Quarterly Session held for Russell County at the Courthouse on Tuesday the 8th day of June 1847. This instrument of writing was exhibited in Court, as and for the last will and testament of John Vint deceased, and proven by the oath of Dale Carter and Elizabeth Carter, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of Harvey Gray executor therein named who made oath, and together with Dale Carter and William Nash his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $1000 conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining probate of the said will in due form.
