In the name of God Amen. I Mary Dickenson of the County of Russell and State of Virginia being indisposed in health but of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all women once to die with these reflections I make this my last will and Testament to dispose of what worldly estate it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with.
First I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came to be buried decently by my executor nothing doubting but to be raised again by the Almighty power of Almighty God, Secontly I give to my children herein after named the balance of my part left me by the will of my husband that is to say my ___ part of the perishable property and my part of the interest in the United States Bank and my part of the proceeds of my plantation and negroes & stock and also one hundred and eighty five dollars in money and the interest of one negro man named Moses all left me by the will of my said Husband except the money which he got after the death of my husband, all in the hands of my son Robert Dickenson. Thirdly I desire that it be collected by my Executor and be equally divided escept the interest of said negro and be divided between Mary Duff Martha Burdine Henry Dickenson James Dickenson and John Dickenson and one hundred I loned James Dickenson and the one hundred I loned Martha Burdine, be collected by my executor and be equally divided between Henry James John and Martha Burdine fourthly I give my son Henry Dickenson my sons James and John each one bed and furniture and the remainder of my beds to be divided between Henry James John and Martha fourthly I request that all my debts be collected and the money arrising therefrom to pay my debts and funeral escpenses and the balance if any I wish my son Henry to enjoy for his trouble and kindness to me and the remainder of my property not herein disposed to be my son Henry Dickenson I have given my son Robert Dickenson all I ever intended and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Henry Dickenson Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills and Testaments by me heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affisced my seal this 4th day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and forty two.

At a Court of Quarterly Session held for Russell County at the Courthouse on Tuesday the 7th day of June 1842.
This instrument of writing was eschibited in Court as and for the last Will and Testament of Mary Dickenson deceased, and proven by the oaths of Nathaniel Dickenson and Nancy P. Dickenson the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded, And on the motion of Henry Dickenson executor therein named who made oath, and together with Samuel ___ and Ezekiel Burdine his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $4000, conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining probat of the said will in due form
