Executed 05 Jan 1841

I Nancy Anderson of Russell County and State of Virginia do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: 1st I desire that after my funeral, and burel expenses are paid and all legal and just debts to be paid out of my property. 2nd I give to my son John Ahl one dollar. 3rd I give to my daughter Polly McClenehan one dollar 4th I give to my daughter Jane Lawson one dollar. 5 I give to my son Benjamin Ahl one dollar 6 I give to my son Alexander Ahl one dollar. 7 I give to my son David Anderson one dollar 8th I give to my daughter Nancy Hackney all the residue of my estate real and personal, my desire is that my son pay to my daughter Nancy the promessory note of hand I hold on him for four hundred dollars the said note I have assigned to the benefit of my daughter Nancy, on this condition of my son John Ahl wishes to keep the tract of land I sold him in the County of Montgomery, then he pay the note above described to my daughter Nancy if not he must give up to my daughter Nancy Hackney the title bond for that tract of land where I formerly resided, and she the said Nancy Hackney give in exchange the four hundred dollar note in exchange of the title bond and if that exchange is made I then give to my daughter Nancy Hackney the tract of land lying in the County of Montgomery on the waters of Catawba.

And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend Harvey Gray executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore maid. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 11th day of November 1840

Signed, sealed, published and delivered by Nancy Anderson as and for her last will and testament in the presents of us who at her request and in her presents have signed our names as witnesses -

At a court held for Russell County on the 5th day of January 1841.
This instrument of writing was exhibited in Court as and for the last Will and Testament of Nancy Anderson deceased, and proven by the oaths of John W. Hargis and Lucinda Hackney the subsribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Harvey Gray executor therein named who made oath, and together with James M. McFarland his security, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $800.00, conditioned according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining probat of the said will in due form.
