In the Name of God Amen.
I Obediah Sexton of the County of Russell and State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
Section 1 I desire all my just debts to be paid and also my funeral expenses, the funeral expenses to be such as my people may desire as to quality and burial material.
Section 2 I give and bequeath to my Brother J. C. Sexton, all my Lands with the appurtenances thereto annexed, to him and his heirs as assigns forever with certain conditions to be set forth further on.
Section 3 I give and bequeath to my Brother J. C. Sexton all my personal property, horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, farming implements, household goods and every thing of a personal nature whatsoever that I may lie seized and possessed of, also any money I may have at my death.
Section 4 I give and bequeath to my Nephew Wm. H. C. Sexton who is a son of my brother Marion C. Sexton, the sum of ($130.00) one hundred and thirty dollars as follows to whit $75.00 per year for four years and thirty dollars the fifth year, the first payment to be made to the said William H. C. Sexton at the expiration of one year from my death and the balance of the payments to be made at intervals of one year each.
Section 5 I give and bequeath to my dear friends Julia Ann Fields and her Mother a home and life time support while they remain single and being no other person with them.
Section 6 I now order that my Brother J. C. Sexton to whom I have given my property as aforesaid shall pay to my Nephew William H. C. Sexton the several amounts as above stated and that he will furnish the home and support that I have bequeathed to the said Julia Ann Fields and her Mother.
Section 7 I now appoint my brother J. C. Sexton as my executor to carry out this will.
Given under my hand and seal this the 3rd day of August 1899.

At a County Court continued and held for Russell County at the courthouse on the 5th day of September 1899.
The last Will and Testament of Obediah Sexton was this day provided in court and proved by the oaths of L. J. Johnson and F. H. Meade the two subscribing witnesses thereto who testified that they witnessed said will at the request of the testator and in his presence and in the presence of each other whereupon said will was admitted to probate in due form of law and ordered to be recorded.
