Executed 03 Mar 1841

I Thomas C. Alderson of Russell County and State of Virginia, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say: 1st after the payment of all my just debts I give and bequeath to the two children of my sister Louisa C. Aston, Margaret Jane and Isabella Elvira, all my personal property and the debts that are to me owing, to be held by them in equal proportions

2nd I hereby appoint Samuel W. Aston my brother in law and the father of my said sisters two children, their guardian, and also, executor of this my last Will and Testament, and desire that so much of my estate as is above devised to them as may be in his discretion necessary, be expended in their education, and the balance put out on interest for their benefit. It is also my desire that twelve months after my decease be allowed my step-father John Jessee to pay over to my executor what he owes me, except so much thereof as may be found necessary to meet my debts, which is to be collected immediately after my decease

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of February 1841

At a Court of quarterly session continued and held for Russell County at the courthouse on Wednesday the 3rd day of March 1841.
This instrument of writing was exhibited in Court as and for the last Will and Testament of Thomas C. Alderson dec'd and proven by the oaths of James P. Carrell and Henry D. Aston the subsribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded.

And at a Court held for said County on Tuesday, the 6th day of April 1841
On the motion of Samuel W. Aston executor therein named who made oath, and together with William Nash and Jefferson Jessee his securities, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $2000 conditioned according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining probat of the said will in due form.
