I Thomas Hendricks of the County of Russell and State of Virginia, being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and disposing memory ( for which I thank God) and being desireous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following, that is to say.
1stly I will that all the money due to me be collected by my Executors herein after mentioned, and all my debts and funeral expenses pay'd out of the same and if a ballance be left I dispose of it as is herein after mentioned
2ndly - I give to my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks the plantation whereon I now live, it lying and being in the County of Russell in the State of Virginia, also my negroes to wit) Will, Henneretta, Jack, and Ned during her natural life or widowhood, and moreover I give to my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks all my horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, and all my plantation tools of every kind, and also all my household furniture of every kind, and the ballance of my money which may remain in hand after the payment of my debts and funeral expenses to be made use of and disposed of by her as she shall think best, for the good of the family and benefit and improvement of the estate for and during her natural life or widowhood
3rdly, I give to my daughter Pheby Gibson one negro boy named Ben after my decease to be enjoyed by her and her heirs forever
4thly, I give to my daughter Sarah Hinton one negro girl named Sook?, after my decease, to be enjoyed by her and her heirs forever
5thly I give to my daughter Eunicia Habourn one negro girl nemd Patt after my decease to be enjoyed by her during her natural life, and at her death I give the said negro girl or her increase to my said daughters children, to be enjoyed by them and their heirs forever.
6thly I give to my daughter Elizabeth Garrett out of my estate at the death of my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks one young negro worth one hundred and thirty three dollars and thirty three cents or the above amount in money
7thly I give to my daughter Margaret Nash one young negro at the death of my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks worth one hundred & thirty three dollars and thirty three cents, or the above amount in money
8thly I will and bequeath to my sons (to wit) James Hendricks, Saml Hendricks & David Hendricks that part of my lands, they lying and being in Russell County in the State of Virginia (that is to say) one part containing one hundred acres and is bounded by the land I now live on and the land of Francis Browning and Aaron Hendricks, and one fifty acre tract be the same more or less which I purchased from my son David Hendricks to be equally divided between them, and to be enjoy'd by them and their heirs forever
9thly I will and bequeath to my son Aaron Hendricks after the deth of my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks all that tract of land which I now live on it lying and being in the County of Russell and State of Virginia, and is bounded by the lands of John Ervin, Benjamin Solomon and Samuel Ewing to be enjoy'd by him and his heirs forever.
10thlyI give to my daughters Pheby Gibson, Sarah Hinton, Elizabeth Garret, Margaret Nash, Eunicia Heburn all my household furniture to be equally divided between them and enjoy'd by them after the death of my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks.
11thly I will and desire that all my personal estate that may remain and be on hand at the death of my beloved wife Sarah Hendricks and is not herein before disposed of (to wit) my negroes Ann, Henerette, Jack and Ned, and all my live stock or stocks of evey kind, and all my plantation tools of every kind be equally divided amongst my children, that is to say, to my son James Hendricks one equel part, to my daughter Pheby Gibson one equal part, to my son Sam'l Hendricks one equal part, to my daughter Sarah Hinton one equal part, to my son David Hendricks one equal part, to my daughter Elizabeth Garrett one equal part, to my daughter Margaret Nash one equal part, to my son Aaron Hendricks one equal part, to my daughter Eunica Heburn one equal part, to be enjoy'd by them and their heirs forever
12thly I do hereby constitute and appoint my sons James Hendricks and Aaron Hendricks executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other or former will or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifteenth day of November 18__

This instrument of writing was exhibited in court as and for the last will and Testament of Thomas Hendricks deceased and proven by the oaths of Francis Browning and John Ervin two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Aaron Hendricks surviving executor therein named who made oath and together with James McFarlane and James McClure his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $4000 conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted the said Aaron Hendricks for obtaining probat of the said will in due form
