I William L. Hess of the County of Russell and State of Virginia do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills made by me at any time heretofore.

1st I direct that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and as to my land and property both real and personal shal be for the support of myself and my wife during our lifetime and Elisha to stay with us ad at our death the whole land and property to belong to my said son Elisha Hess in witness of this my last will I set my hand and seal the 27th day of October 1881.

At a County Court begun and held for Russell County at the courthouse thereof on Tuesday the 7th day of April 1895.
The last Will and Testament of William L. Hess was this day produced in court and proved by the oath of John Vance, Stephen Fuller one of the subscribing witnesses thereto who testified that he witnessed said will at the request of the Testator and in his presence and in the presence of each other whereupon said will was admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded.
