Daniel and Johnson Nelson signed the petition for the formation of Russell Cnty. I found that Daniel and Rebecca are on the 1799 tax list. David on the 1810 tax list. If you have any info on these people contact me. I beleive that this Nelson family is of my David Nelson line. David Nelson was born in 1790. I believe that he had a sister Rebecca and a brother Johnson Nelson

QRYTEXT: On microfilm, the Russell Co Court Law ORder Book, 1786-1904, Defendant Index lists a JOHN HOBBS in 1834 who was acquitted and discharged for larceny in Russell Co Va. My JOHN HOBBS was born abt 1805 in Va and married Nancy unknown (b) in Va and had George Hobbs 1832 in Va, then had Anna Hobbs 1836 and Samuel 1838 in Breathitt Co Ky. Wondering if maybe this JOHN HOBBS is mine and this is why he left for Ky. John HObbs moved to Logan Co 1840, Tazewell Co (now Buchanan Co) in 1844. His children settle again in Russell Co 1870. Have been looking for parents of JOHN HOBBS for 4 years now. He has to belong to one of the HOBBS families from SW Va. Is there anybody that can help me. Does anyone know about the John Hobbs mentioned in the Court Law Book
