QRYTEXT: I am trying to trace my family history, and although I have had some success, i am now hitting the proverbial brick wall. My father is Estle M Wells, son of Roy Frazier Wells & Pearl Jane Newberry. I can find nothing on Pearl Newberry except that her father was named John. Roy Wells was the son of William Edward Wells & Clarcey Amanda Richardson. William Wells was the son of Martin Orbin Wells & Mary Jane Israel. Martin Orbin Wells was the son of Edward Wells & America Griffin. Edward Wells was the son of Thomas & Sarah Wells. I don't know that Thomas & Sarah Wells were ever in Russell Co, but beginning with Edward & America Wells, all of the other Wells' were born & lived in the Russell Co area, Swords Creek in particular. I have found info that a great many of my ancestors are buried in the Wells family cemetary, but have so far been unable to locate any info on where this cemetary is, or if it has ever been researched. If anybody has any info on these families, I w! ould love to hear from you and share any info I have. I now live in Houston, TX, and don't get to go back to Virginia too often, but would love to leave this history for my kids and grandkids. He was 75 at that time, but it also mentions that he came there from Russell County, Virginia.
