Babb married Samuel Shoemaker and their daughter Louisa Shoemaker married Napoleon Bonaparte
Gilbert 30 Nov 1859 RCV. I want actual marriage records if possible. There is question about
Napoleon Bonaparte Gilbert being the same person as Napoleon Bonaparte Babb. The
1850-1860-1870-1880 Russell Co Va census has info showing these people together. John and
Delilah Babb had son Benjamin Babb b 1810 RCV. He married Marinda-Mary-Renda Gilbert and are
together 1850 RCV census.This marriage record has not been found. Renda died 1857. Benj Babb m
Martha Holt 7 July 1857. ANY info of ANY NATURE will be much appreciated.

Priest or (Preece). They left Russell County, Va. and came to Pike County. In the 1850 census
in Pike County, James Elkins was 47 and Elizabeth was about 45. Their children were: Cynthia
Elkins b. 1824,Rhoda J. Elkins b. 1826,Allisa Elkins b. 1828, John H. Elkins b. 1830, Charles
A. Elkins b. 1837(Probably, the first child to be born in Pike County, KY.) Other children

in 1785, and that he was among the first Justices of the county appointed the following year. I
also see tax and deed references to Louisa Bowen, Henry Bowen, Rees Bowen (I believe this is
Rees, Jr.) and William Bowen. Louisa could be Levisa, the wife of Rees who was killed at the
Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780. But, who is the John who helped establish Russell County?
