I have been trying to find any information on a Samuel Locke b. 1752 Virginia , reportedly in Russell County ? but can't prove it. I am also at a dead end in trying to prove who Samuel's parents were.
This much I do know , Samuel Lock(e) was living in Washington County Va and then moved to Montgomery County Va , he married Sarah Hannah Huston , who is reported to be the daughter of William Huston of Huston's Fort.
I have been told that both Samuel and wife Sarah were killed by Indians , but again can't prove it.
2 of Samuel's children , Abraham Lock(e) b. 1777 and Samuel Lock(e) b. 1779 moved from Montgomery County Va after their father's death to Lee County Va. This much I can prove.
I believe Samuel Lock(e) b. 1752 had a brother named Jacob Locke who died in Hampshire County Va.
I am stuck and don't know what else to do :(
We at one time thought that Samuel's Father was a man named William Lock(e)
b. 1729 or 1730 , but we can't find any information at all to back that
theory up.

been born after the census because she was not listed as a child of J C
Jessee and Margaret. We finally got a birth record and the proof that she
was indeed an unlisted child of the above. Now we need to know how she
died!!! Family rumor says that she was found on her back porch with her
"throat cut" in April of 1910. We do not have a death record (only bible
record w/date of death). Now we need a newspaper clipping or death record
or something to show the cause of death. In 1910 no death records were
required by law. Can anyone in Russell County find this info out for us
somehow?? Sure would appreciated your help!! Thanks again.

Gray (l788 Augusta Co., VA-l859 Scott Co., VA). Alec Gray may have married his first wife in Russell County, VA prior to
his move to Indian Territory which later became Franklin County, Tennessee,
around l8l2-l3. He settled at Bean's Creek living among the Creek Indians
(lived one mile from David Crockett). I have been told by family members
that Alec Gray's first wife was "Indian". He had one known child by Wife#1:
James Madison "Matt" Gray (l8l8 Franklin Co., TN-l880 Elliott County, KY)
married Maude Elizabeth Cocke of Scott Co., VA, #2 Mary Elizabeth Humphrey
of Elliott County, KY. Alec Gray fought in the Creek Indian War (l8l4) in
Alabama and the Battle of New Orleans where he was a member of Capt. Jesse
Bean's Co. of Spies. Was captured at Villere Plantation and held 20 days,
left leg amputated due to an injury. Alec Gray had a business at Salem,
Tennessee, a Cotton Center in Franklin Co., TN; moved to Scott County, VA
around l830, and settled on the Clinch River at Staunton Creek. His
plantation consisted of land in Scott, Russell and Wise Counties on the Clinch and Guest Rivers. Matt Gray's
last farm was located on Bolin's Creek (location?). Alec Gray's second wife
was Harriett Todd Mason of Scott County, VA. Any information on Alec Gray's first wife or information on him or his
