I have found clues that maybe she was a daughter of Fountain Dye & Polly Darnell. PLEASE HELP Family story is that Catherine Dye left Russell County at about the age of 13 with an uncle & his family and went to Lawrence Co, Ky. She stayed with a Jordan family & the uncle returned to Russell Co. for some reason. She married Columbus Crank in 1869 i Lawrence County, Ky. She had a brother who served in the Civil War, but I don't know his name or whether he lived or was a casuality of the war. Hopefully someone is connected with or knows about this family or story. According to Andy's application for a social security number, he lists his parents as William Henry Dickerson and Nancy Dickenson.

I have been unable to locate a birth record for Andy. I have heard that William and Nancy may have been around Russell or Scott County, Va

There seems to be a consistency with a woman named SARA/SALLY PIPPIN. She was married to HENRY REYNOLDS. Sarah was b. Maryland 1778?/d. 1860 probably in Letcher Co.

In 1850 Census she is living with her son William, his wife and children. One of the children is named Noah also. I have also come across a lot of WILLIAM HENRY's. So, he could go by his middle name. This William is 36. He is a great prospect for a brother to my NOAH MILBURN. I had previous info suggesting that NOAH had brother's - WILLIAM HENRY b.1815 and Daniel b. 1823. Pretty good match.

Any suggestions on how to get a look-up on 1810 Russell Co. Census!!! Love to hear from anyone. I have a lot of other info on this clan. I am from JOSEPH/JOSIAH

QRYTEXT: I am trying to trace my family history, and although I have had some success, i am now hitting the proverbial brick wall. My father is Estle M Wells, son of Roy Frazier Wells & Pearl Jane Newberry. I can find nothing on Pearl Newberry except that her father was named John. Roy Wells was the son of William Edward Wells & Clarcey Amanda Richardson. William Wells was the son of Martin Orbin Wells & Mary Jane Israel. Martin Orbin Wells was the son of Edward Wells & America Griffin. Edward Wells was the son of Thomas & Sarah Wells. I don't know that Thomas & Sarah Wells were ever in Russell Co, but beginning with Edward & America Wells, all of the other Wells' were born & lived in the Russell Co area, Swords Creek in particular. I have found info that a great many of my ancestors are buried in the Wells family cemetary, but have so far been unable to locate any info on where this cemetary is, or if it has ever been researched. If anybody has any info on these families, I would love to hear from you and share any info I have. I now live in Houston, TX, and don't get to go back to Virginia too often, but would love to leave this history for my kids and grandkids. Especially any info on Pearlie Jane Newberry, as I have none. I would also like to thank this website, it is great
