Children included (according to probate records): Jonathan (more below), Mary (married Joseph CLARK), Sarah (married William VIARS), Angelina (married David H. BRADLEY), Nancy Jane (married Daniel GULLET), Torsha Melvina (married Robert PARSONS), William, and James Henry. I believe this family was from Russell County, Virginia, but they had moved to Kentucky by 1850.
Jonathan THOMAS married Deleria (WEDDLE???) sometime around 1840/1845, perhaps in Russell
County. Most of their children were born and lived their entire lives in Carter County, KY.

County, NC. He married Harriet Beaver and was in the Russell County, VA census in 1910. He was
listed as in St. Paul, VA in 1917 and 1925 in the obituaries of his parents. Their children are
Walter, Oscar - born 1896, Vestal Jay - born in 1898, Velda - born Sept 9, 1900. Odie - born in
1906 and Tom born in 1909. Vestal Jay Taylor married and had a son Vestal Jay Taylor, Jr. Any
help would be appreciated.

QRYTEXT: I have GGGM Celia L. MUTTER, b. 1845, Russel Co VA, dau. of Ann MAYBURN (oral
history), moved to Missouri 1858, moved to Illinois and m. Barney LOFTON/Loftin in 1862, Lofton
died 1863 in Civil War, Woodsonville Ky, Celia later m. James Henry BEAN in 1865, in Harp
Twnshp, DeWitt Co. IL. She dies in 1908 in Harp,DeWitt,Ill. Dont know if the midel initial was
a reference to LOFTON.
She had 5 surving children: Sarah, Farletta, Newton, McHenry, and James Thomas BEAN (my GGF). I have more info on these survivors if you want it. I have verbatum obit on Celia and copious probate of her estate at death in 1908.
I am trying to locate Celia's birth family thru Russel Co. 1850 Census, then maybe Missouri
1860 (but no Co name). Celia was sometimes spelled with 'S' and 'y' like Sely.

researching my gg-grandparents George(?) PATTON who married Lucynthia WHITT. Believed to have
been from Tazwell or Russell Co., VA. They settled in Russell and had 3 Children, George, James
and Margaret. George(Sr.) died in 1886, Lucynthia in 1884. I have been told that Margaret was
thrown from a horse and died at a very young age. Maybe around 3 years old. After the death of
his parents James Thomas (J. T.)left the farm that his parents owned and went to KY.
George(Jr.)died in a cave/coal mine. Date unknown. Does this sound familiar to anyone?????

QRYTEXT: I am researching Tryon GIBSON, who purchased land in Russell County, VA in 1795 and,
in 1797, signed a petition for the formation of Tazwell county. Tryon moved to Tennessee by
1808, and was in Giles County, TN in 1816. He moved to Lincoln County, TN ca 1820 and to Pike
County, MO by 1828. He was last recorded in Newton County, MO in the 1840s and probably died
there. He was b. ca 1770 and married Margaret (RILEY?)abt 1795, probably in Russell County.
They had: Isaac, Benjamin, William and Hezekiah. Ring any bells? Tax records suggest that his
father may have been John Gibson and that Tryon may have had brothers named James, John Jr.,
William and Andrew. John Gibson Sr. was in Russell County in 1787.
