EVERETT E. BARKER

      Everett E. Barker, 93, of 
Franklin route 4, died Sunday, 
Dec. 27, at the Johnson County 
Memorial Hospital in Franklin, 
where he had been a patient for 
a few days.  A retired farmer, 
he had had a lengthy illness.
      Funeral services were 
today at 1:30 p.m. at Jollity 
Methodist Church where Barker 
was a member.  Burial was at 
Rest Haven Cemetery.
      Calling hours were held 
at Eskew Funeral Home.
      Barker was born Dec. 28, 
1887, in Johnson County, son 
of Edward M. (Barker) and Lilly 
M. Davis.  He married Lydia 
Drake April 6, 1911.  She died 
April 23, 1967.
      He was a member of the 
Edinburgh Masonic Lodge.
      Survivors include two 
sons, George Barker of Franklin 
route 4 and Stanley Barker of 
Franklin route 5; two daughters, 
Lucille Records of Franklin 
route 4 and Rosemary Beard 
of Franklin, nine grandchildren 
and 17 great-grandchildren.
