Greenwood man dies
      GREENWOOD -- Elmer B. Dougherty, 82, 147 W. Main Street died Friday at the
Greenwood Health Center.  He had been ill six weeks.
      Mr. Dougherty was born March 23, 1886 in Marion County, the son of Jacob
and Lydia Anderson Dougherty.
      He was a retired warehouse superintendent having been employed by the
Strom warehouse in Indianapolis.
      Survivors are a son, Wilbur D. Dougherty, Indianapolis; one brother, Bert
D. Dougherty, Greenwood; one sister, Mrs. Stella Bullock, California and
one granddaughter, Mrs. Florence Pettit, Chicago.
      Mr. Dougherty attended the Methodist Church.  Services will be held in the
J. C. Wilson Greenwood Chapel, Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., with burial in the
Rockland cemetery.  Rev. Medcalf of the Woodlawn Baptist Church,
Indianapolis will be in charge.
