SEMERAD, MARY BUDIN [February 24, 1894 - February 5, 1946]
SERVICE TOMORROW FOR MRS. JOS. SEMERAD
    Mrs. Jos. Semerad, aged 61 years, died Tuesday after several years' illness and having been bedfast since October.
    The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Budin and was born in Colfax county on February 24, 1894. She was married to Jos. Semerad on April 16, 1912, at St. John's Nepomuk church and the couple have spent their wedded life farming in the Tabor neighborhood.
    Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30 at the farm home and at 10:00 o'clock at St. Mary's church, Tabor, with Rev. A. Tuma officiating.
    Mrs. Semerad is survived by her husband, three sons, James and Louis, farming in the Tabor territory, Joseph, a member of the army, now home of furlough; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph Reznicek of Purple Cane and Mrs. Frank Vogltance of near Dodge; seven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Cyril Houser of Clarkson.

BRICHACEK, FRANK WENCIL [September 8, 1869 - November 9, 1946]
FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT TABOR
    Frank Wencil Brichacek, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brichacek, Sr., was born September 8, 1869 in Czechoslovakia at Kostelec, county Tabor, and died Saturday at his home in Dodge at the age of 77 years, two months and a day.
    He came to America with his parents in 1885 and for many years lived on a farm south of the Tabor community. After his marriage by the late Rev. Broz at Dodge at St. Wenceslaus church on April 20, 1909, to Miss Mary Semerad, they lived on the home place for five years and then took their residence in Dodge for six years. In 1920 they returned to the farm, but two years ago they purchased a home in Dodge and retired.
    The family circle consisted of two children, Adolph of the Tabor vicinity and Emma, wife of Joseph Jedlicka of Dodge, who with their mother mourn the death of a kind and considerate father and husband. He is also survived by two brother, Joseph Brichacek of this placed and Fred of Schuyler, and two sisters, Mrs. Stazie Juva, and Mary, wife of James Juva, both of Clarkson, and all have the condolence of many friends in their bereavement.
    The funeral services were conducted Monday by Rev. A. Tuma at St. Mary's church at Tabor after a prayer service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Brichacek. In the congregation were many relatives and friends and members of the K. D. lodge of which he was a member. The church choir assisted in the requiem mass and floral and spiritual bouquets testified that many kindly and loving memories followed him to the tomb. He was laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery at Tabor, nephews of the departed having serves as pallbearers -- Stanley Juva, Milo and Melvin Brichacek, Louis and James Semerad and Emil Dostal.
    He was handicapped by an injury he sustained in 1933 when he suffered a fall which prevented outdoor activities and for several weeks he has been bedfast. The end was hastened by a stroke a month ago and during his illness he was given considerate and devoted care.
    Mr. Brichacek lived beyond the allotted span of life and leaves a memory of a well-spent life.
