ONDRACEK, ANTON [May 9, 1885 - April 26, 1932]
ANTON ONDRACEK DEAD; FOUND LIFELESS IN BED
Anton Ondracek, 46, was found dead in bed by his wife about
six-thirty Tuesday morning. Mrs. Ondracek had slept in a downstairs
room, and Mr. Ondracek Ondracek occupied a room upstairs. When Mrs.
Ondracek called her husband, no response came from his room and
investigation revealed his lifeless body in his bed. A physician was
summoned and he stated that Mr. Ondracek's death had occurred a few
hours earlier and that it was caused by a heart attack. No inquest
was held as it was apparent that death was due to natural causes.
Mr. Ondracek had been suffering with heart trouble the past two years
and had not been feeling at all well the day previous to his death.
Mr. Ondracek was born at Striker, Moravia, on May 9, 1885. He came
to America with his parents and their family in 1906, arriving in New
York City of April 2, of that year. The family arrived in Schuyler
on the first of May 1906 and the remainder of Mr. Ondracek's life was
spent in this city. He was united in marriage to Miss Frantiska
Cerny at Schuyler, February 27, 1911.
Surviving are the widow, three sons, Anton Jr. 18, Frank 12, and
Stanley, 5, one daughter, Miss Mary, 19, the aged mother, Mrs.
Barbara Ondracek, all of Schuyler, four brothers, Charles, Rudolph,
both of Colfax County, John of Boston, Massachusetts, and Stanley of
Schuyler, and one sister, Mrs. John Machacek of Colfax county.
Mr. and Mrs. Ondracek resided in the Third was of this city for a
number of years. Mr Ondracek followed his occupation as a butcher
while a resident of Schuyler. He was a member of the Woodmen of the
World Lodge. His father passed away in Schuyler in September, 1907.
Funeral services will be held at the late residence Thursday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, under the auspices of the Woodem of the
World lodge. Burial will be made in the Schuyler cemetery.
