JUNGBLUTH, NORA V. (MAPLE) [March 7, 1872 - March 10, 1952]
Mrs. Nora V. Jungbluth, 80, lifelong Colfax County resident, passed away Monday
March 10, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she had been a
patient over a year and a half.
Born on a farm west of Richland in Colfax County, March 7, 1872, she was a
daughter of Jacob and Margaret Dumphy Maple. She attended rural school and grew to
womanhood in that community. Later she attended Fremont Normal College and taught
rural schools six years.
Nora V. Maple and Otto Jungbluth were married in Schuyler, March 30, 1897. They
resided on a farm northwest of Schuyler until March, 1938, when they retired and
moved to town. Mr. Jungbluth died in June, 1942, and a son, Otto Jr., passed away in
April, 1941.
Mrs. Jungbluth was affiliated with the Catholic Church and the Little Flower Altar
Society.
Survivors include one son, Harold, of Omaha; two daughters, Miss Hildred and
Lenora, Mrs Perry Payzant, both of Schuyler; five grandchildren; one great grandson;
three brothers, William Maple of Fullerton, Calif., Paul Maple of Fresno, Calif., and
Charles Maple of Ogden, Utah, and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Ann Miller of Lincoln.
Funeral service was at 9:30 o'clock this Thursday morning, at the Bideaux Chapel,
and at 10 o'clock at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, The Very Rev. ? J. Nacke, V. F.,
officiated. Burial was in Schuyler Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Kvocek, Leonard Legler, Adolph Brichacek, Frank Divis,
Edward Asche and Dan Tooher.
