Wilcox resident, 63

Minden - Helen Audry Wach, 63, of Wilcox died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Kearney County Health Services Hospital in Minden.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Campbell Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mark Diehl officiating. Burial will be at the Presbyterian Cemetery near Campbell.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Layton Funeral Home in Minden.
She was born December 24, 1939 in Pawnee City to Dallas and Gladys (Hochstedler) Miller.
She grew up in Pawnee City, Omaha and Gothenburg.
On February 27, 1960 she married Duane Wach in Omaha.
They lived in Hastings, Sutton, Amherst and Minden. In 1992 they moved to Wilcox.
She baked for a cafe in Wilcox.
She was a member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce in Wilcox, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Community Improvement Association.
She enjoyed sewing, camping and fishing, gardening, playing cards, dancing and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Arthur of Sutton and Duane Jr. of Hastings; daughters, Kim Redlinger of Norfolk, Audry Baker of Sutton and Bonna Newman and Joyce Kempkes, both of Campbell; brothers, Carlton Miller of Fort Calhoun, Leo and Darrell Miller, both of Litchfield, Richard Miller of Bertrand and Leslie Miller of Hazard; sister, Doris Morris of Gothenburg; 12 grandchildren and 3 stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister and three grandchildren.

Former Minden Resident, 82

Wheat Ridge, Colo. - Garnett E. Weedlun, 82 of Wheat Ridge, formerly of Minden, Neb. died Tuesday May 27, 2003 at the Exempla Healthcare Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge.
Services were Saturday at Layton Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Dee Jay Reiff officiating. Burial of cremains were at Minden Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Kearney County Health Services in Minden.
She was born August 9, 1920 in Minden to Jake and Estella (Larsen) Stadler. She attended country grade schools and graduated from Minden High School in 1938. She attended Hastings Business College and worked in the family business, Stadler Brothers Implement Co. In the early 1940s she moved to Los Angeles, where she worked in the defense industry during World War II.
On August 21, 1943, she married Merle Weedlun in San Diego, while he was on a weekend pass from the Navy.
For the next 20 years, the family moved from port to port with the Navy, living in places such as San Francisco, Norfolk, Va., Hawaii and Guam. Her husband retired from the Navy in 1962 and the family moved to Wheat Ridge.
She was a member of the Arvada Presbyterian Church and enjoyed golf, bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of Wheat Ridge; sons, Larry of Arvada and Tim of Cabin John, Md., sister Ardyce Hauschild of Arvada and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
