His Birth Certificate reflects he was born in
Whitesboro. Father listed as E. Armstrong.
Mother Josie Myers. His father was a
Grocery Dairyman.

1920 Census
They lived in Whitesboro.

1930 Census
He was living in Pre. 7 , rural Grayson co.
That was around Sadler.




Almost 7,000 Marines died on Iwo Jima.

His group was near the South Field at the time of his death, (Airfield No1)
they came ashore Iwo Jima, 19 Feb 1945.

His middle name is Stewart not Steward.


He would have been buried in the temporary cemetery on Iwo Jima, then they would return
the body back home for burial fulfilling family wishes. He was finally placed in
Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio in 1948.
