Sgt Harold E Finney
Van Alstyne:--Funeral services for Sgt Harold E Finney, 23, son of Mrs Margaret Selby, Howe, who was killed in the Pacific Nov 22, 1944, will be held Sunday at 3 PM at the First Christian Church.
Lowell Thompson, chaplain of the Howe American Legion post will conduct, assisted y the Rev E D  Hammer. Military rites will be accorded at the grave in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Fox-Fanning Funeral Home.
Sgt Finney was born in Grayson County, Aug 28, 1921. He enlisted in the armed forces Oct 1, 1940, and was assigned to the Fifth Cavalry.
Suvivors include: His mother and two brothers, J D Finney and Ray Selby, both of Howe.

He appears on a list of those buried in Leyte in
Armed Forces Cemetery no. 1 - containing 412 Texans buried there.
He was removed to the VAN ALSYTNE Cemetery
