Harvey Lane's body arrived on the Army Transport "Carroll Victory" in New York harbor. July 1948
There were 4,842 bodies aboard. They had been removed from the temporary cemeteries and it took
several years to get them all home again, as requested by the family.

He was buried in Italy until 1948
His body was sent to the US and he is buried
in Oakwood Cemetery, Denison, Texas
