His parents were James Alexander McDonald and Mary Estelle Upshaw McDonald

1940 Census - James Robert McDonald age 21, Parents James A and Mary E McDonald.
They lived in rural Grayson. His father James A McDonald died in 1972 at age 91 in Fredericksburg, Tx and was brought back home and buried in West Hill.
I haven't been able to find more articles about him.

His unit were in combat in Belgium, the Battle of the Bulge and the great surge of Allies lined up and pushing toward
invading Germany.

He is buried in West Hill Cemetery
His parents are buried there also.


More about his unit. It was combined with the XIX Corps during that period.
