He grew up in Van Alstyne, Lived in Denison
at the time of his enlistment.
He went to Dallas to enlist.
Serving in the North African Theater.(which
included Italy.)
He was a top turret gunner. All 10 on board
died.
Their
bodies were lost in the Adriatic sea.
Parents: Roy Nichols & Josie Nichols
Wife: Loevia Adams Nichols
They had four children.

What a miserable Christmas Day.

They often waited quite a while before they
declared them dead.
It was always hoped they were found or made it
to shore and taken prisoner or put in a
hospital somewhere and may make contact later.

many tasks for the men who died over
the war years.
The trials just keep coming for their
families.
Besides estates, receiving their military
medals
and settling debts, estates and home sales
even. Life was changed.
