He was from Whitewright Born 13 JAN 1923 - Died 21 Feb 1945 He died during the Battle of Iwo Jima and  was returned home in 1948. His SERVICE NO. 974518 The Whitewright Sun 22 Mar 1945 Fort Worth Star-Telegram 21 Mar 1945 The Bonham Daily Favorite 29 Mar 1948 A list of additional Deaths after the war. Fort Worth Star-Telegram  10 Dec 1946 Whitewright Sun 25 Mar 1948

The Articles about his burial were wrong. Even on this card below it says Memorial Park (that is West Hill in Sherman)
He is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright
(It is just over the county line in Fannin County.)
