Jailed Charged with Assault to Murder

Following the finding of Albert Collins, a farmer in a house at Preston Late Yesterday with his head split open and in an unconscious condition, Jeff Daniels was arrested today and placed in jail and charged with assault to murder. Collin's condition is critical and he has not regain consciousness.

Three More Charged
Daniels Father and Brother Arrested in Collins Murder case.
Sherman, Tex., Sept 10, John Daniels, father of Jeff Daniels and Jack Daniels, another son, and Duke Stanley were placed in the county jail today charged with the murder of Albert Collins. Jeff Daniels has been in jail ever since Collins, who died last night, was found unconscious at Preston Bend, Tues, with his head split open . He was formally charged with murder today. All of them will have an examining trial tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock in Judge Huston's court.

Father of the Family Cleared of Murder Charge.

Sherman, Texas Sep 13-At a habeas corpus Trial of the three Daniels, charged with the killing of Albert Collins at Preston Bend Tuesday of last week, John Daniels, Father of Jeff and Jack, was released from custody, Judge J M Pearson of the Fifty-Ninth district court, before whom the hearing was had, stated that he would render a decision as to the others tomorrow morning.
