Will Jones, negro, charged with the murder of Ben Smith, negro, here about a year ago, was tried for the second time at Sherman two weeks ago. He was given a five year term in the penitentiary.

Will Jones, a Whitewright negro who was sentenced to serve five years for murder in connection with the killing of another negro in a house near the oil mill in a gambling game, has accepted the sentence and was sent to the penitentiary last Thursday to begin serving his term. He had been in the sherman Jail since the killing took place over a year ago.
