ZAC MOSELEY
KILLED
Thursday
about 10 o'clock p.m., Ella Porter killed
Zac Moseley, colored, on Austin Avenue and
Walker Street. Ella is a niece of the
dead man, The circumstances which led
up to the tragedy are about as follows:
Moseley
claimed that his niece had visited his wife
and told her a story to the effect that Zac
was in the habit of visiting another woman
and that he was untrue to his marriage
relations. It is alleged that Moseley
made threat of vengeance against his niece.
When they met Thursday night Zac
commenced to abuse and upbraid his niece and
assaulted her. The woman in pure
self-defense defended herself and slashed
Zac on the arm with a razor. Moseley
lingered until Friday morning, dying about 7
o'clock.
Ella Porter
was arrested and conveyed to jail. She was
raised in Denison and Mayor Knaur and others
for whom she has worked speak of her in the
highest terms.
Zac Moseley
is a pioneer resident of Denison and
conducted a barber shop on Main street a few
doors east of the Gazetteer office.
