Hash Family
of Grayson County, Texas

James
Henry Hash, wife Elmira (Ellie, Ella,
Aunt Ellie Mosier Hash), Joseph Thomas
(Jodie) Mosier
Henry J Hash (aka
James Henry Hash or J. Henry) is the
son of James Hash, brother of Sarah Jane Hash
Myers, daughter of John
Mosier & Elizabeth Ratliff.
I don't believe Henry and
Ellie had any children of their
own; Joseph Thomas (Jodie)
Mosier, s/o Samuel Carrington Mosier
& Mary Catherine Cook
Mosier. Samuel Mosier was Elmira
Hash's brother.
Elmira Ellie Mosier Hash was, I
believe, the aunt of Jodie and Ida
Mosier; that's why she and her husband
took in the children when they
were orphaned.
Joseph T (Jodie) Mosier was Ida Elmira
Mosier's brother. Jodie and his
sister Ida Elmira Mosier were raised
by Henry and Ellie (Aunt Ellie) after
both of their parents died.
Joseph T (Jodie) Mosier, age 10, and
his sister Ida E Mosier, age 14, are
listed as living with J Henry and
Elmira Hash in LaClede Co. Missouri on
the 1900 census, right before they
moved to Grayson county, where they
live during 1910
census. Jodie Mosier then
became the father of Sam Mosier, who
married Florence Cook's sister Lottie
Cook.
J. Henry Hash and Elmira S. Ella
Mosier Hash were known as "Uncle Henry
and Aunt Ellie". They moved to
Pottsboro from Missouri about
1900. He was a farmer. His
sister Sarah Jane Hash Myers would
always send or bring James Henry Hash
a can of tobacco and a pipe for
Christmas, but he never used
it. He died Thursday morning, 8:30
after a week long illness. He was
buried at Georgetown
Cemetery, north of
Pottsboro Friday afternoon at
2:30 pm with the Short-Murray Funeral
directors officiating.
After her husband's death, Ellie lived
with her great-nephew Sam Mosier and
wife Lottie Cook Mosier. Sam is
the son of Joseph Thomas "Jodie"
Mosier, whom Elmira and Henry adopted
after both his and his sister Ida
Elmira's parents death (parents were
Elmira's brother Samuel Carrington
Mosier and Mary Catherine Cook Mosier)
who died within a year of each other.

Ellie died Monday night at

stroke of paralysis which brought
sudden death. She
was buried Tuesday afternoon at 4

Christ preacher Gardenhire
officiating.
