Jane Hash, was born
1879 in Bloomington,
Monore Co., Indiana.
At eight
years of age,
1888, his
parents and siblings
moved to Sherman,
Grayson County,
Texas. His
father established
the first rural
telephone system
there and operated
it for several years
before moving his
family to DeSota,
Texas. Sam and
Ivory were married
in 1890 after having
met at a party in a
friend's home.

out their
lives in
Dallas Co.,
Texas

Aside
from their
52nd Christmas
together, the
Sam Myers of
Grand Prairie,
also marked
their 32nd
Christmas in
Grand Prairie,
and here to
take part in
the auspicious
occasion were
3 of their 5
children.
It
turned out
that only the
eldest and the
youngest son
and one
daughter were
the only ones
able to enjoy
the
traditional
Christmas
dinner.
They are
Eldon Myers,
eldest, and
Harvey Myers,
youngest,
both of
Grand Prairie
and Mrs Lillie
Chambers,
daughter, of
Dallas.
Missing
were a
daughter, Mrs.
Ruby Cooper,
Midlothian,
who was ill,
and another
son, Rev.
Floyd E,
Myers, Fresno,
California.
Mr. and Mrs.
Myers were
married June
9, 1900 at
DeSoto where
they met at a
party in a
friend's home.
And
although they
didn't know it
at the time,
Dan Cupid was
hard at work.
It took
him a full
year to
complete the
knot-tieing
chore,
however.
A native of
Indiana, Mr.
Myers came to
Sherman, Texas
with his
parents when
he was but 8
years old.
His
father
established
the first
rural
telephone
system there
and operated
it for several
years before
moving to
DeSoto.
Mrs.
Myers is a
native-born
Texan and
hails from
Waxahachie.
The
couple gave up
farm life many
years ago and
moved to Grand
Prairie where
Mr. Myers was
associated
with
the....(the
rest is
missing)
Special
occasions - A
Grand Prairie
couple were
celebrating
their 52nd year
of marriage and
their 32nd
Christmas in
Grand Prairie
last year.
