Pinkerton

Emma
married N.L. Smith in 1892 in Hill
County, Texas.
In
1902 she married John D. Pinkerton, who
was listed as a tinner in the
1905 Sherman City Directory. John
died in Clovis, New Mexico in
1914 and was buried next to Emma's
parents. After his death, Emma
moved to California, where in 1915, she
married Herbert O. Pearce.
After his death in 1929, Emma
learned that her childhood
sweetheart, Jasper Newton "Newt"
Deguire, whom she believed had been
killed in an 1892 cattle stampede, was
still alive and living in
California as well. They were
married in 1935 and lived as man
and wife until his death in 1941.
