Their daughters were:
On the wagon trip, the two youngest daughters were given the "best bed" - the top of the kitchen table that James and Nora were bringing with them. Jim worked for Clyde Wyble on a farm near Riverside. Mr. Wyble furnished them with a house to live in, gave them the last cotton crop of the season, and gave the a team and wagon for one year's labor. Their fifth daughter, Fannie Mae Cook, was born on September 28, 1914.
The three oldest girls walked two and one-half miles to attend Riverside School. Their teacher was Mattie Bardee. James Waterson Cook In 1940, Jim and Nora cook purchase land on what is now Cook Corner Road from their daughter, Ruth, and her husband, J. C. Elmore. It was part of the James Strickland survey, abstract number 1068, described as from the Estate of J. H. and Ella S. Hash. Here Jim began building the house he and and Nora would live in for the remainder of their lives. They moved into their new home in January 1942. Nora wrote a letter on January 29, 1942 to her daughter, Ruth, who was living in Miam, Arizona. " . . . we have got our house built and moved into it. I like the house very much but I don't like where it is built. It is built right in front of the spring. All we have to do is step out of the front door and dip up water."
