JOHNSON MARSHALL COVEY, son of Enoch Moore Covey and Maranda O. Hunt, was born June 11, 1861 in Millwood, Collin County, Texas. He died in Sherman on January 18, 1941.  Johnson married Lydia Elizabeth Covey, daughter of Jacob C. Covey and Sarah Middleton Melton.
My great-grandmother and great-grandfather were married on a ferry in the middle of the Red River (probably on the old historic Colbert's ferry) where, I read that so many marriages were performed that the folks in Denison called the river the "Sea of Matrimony!" During World War I, he owned and operated the Collinsville Hotel in Collinsville, Texas.
