BEADLE
By
Mary B. Ingram, Shirley L. Brown

The town of Beadle was situated below Buckeye on the Collegeport Branch of the St. Louis, Brownsville, and Mexico Railway (SLB&M)

Levi E. Beadle was the postmaster from October 22, 1910, until February 15, 1918, when the post office was discontinued.  L. E. Beadle was also the engineer for Road District Number 7.

In the Daily Tribune dated July 28, 1911, an article read:

The boarding house at the Beadle caught fire Sunday morning and burned to the ground.  The contents of the building were saved, except in the kitchen where the fire originated.  It is supposed to have started from a deflective flue, as there was no one in that part of the house at the time.  There was no insurance.
