Final Rites Held Here Tuesday For Mrs. Silberisen, 55

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Ray Silberisen were held at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Van Dyke of the Grace Presbyterian Church of Victoria officiating.

Mrs. Silberisen died in Galveston Sunday at the age of 55 years. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery with Taylor Brothers in charge.

She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lowe, Mrs. Lovie Cichmar, and Mrs. Drusie Lowe; three brothers, John T. and Carl __ Schumack of Victoria and Wa__ H. Schumack of Arizona.

Funeral Services Are Held Saturday For Smith Infant

Funeral services were held Saturday for Frank Howard Smith Jr., five-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith of Bay City.

Services were in Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. C. M. Becton officiating. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery.

Survivors are the parents.

Funeral Services Held Saturday For W. C. Stone

Funeral services were held Saturday morning for William C. Stone, 62, who died at the Matagorda County General Hospital early Friday morning.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ira T. Anderson of Bay City; one son, C. C. of Cedar Lane; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Walsh of San Marcos, and three grandchildren.

Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery under the direction of Walker-Matchett.

Blanche Finch Stone

Stone, Mrs. Blanche Finch, age 91, a resident of Bay City, passed away in Matagorda House after a lengthy illness on February 17. She was a member of the first Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carmen S. Anderson; a son, C. C. Stone Sr.; three grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Also a sister, Mrs. Gus Kerchieville and a brother, Dave Finch of El Paso. Other survivors are eight nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Don Larick at Taylor Brothers Chapel on Saturday, February 19 at 3:00 p. m. Interment will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Posey McLendon, Jim Webb, Jack Scoggin, Sims McDonald, Wade Ashcraft and Harry Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Gist, J. I. Barron, Jim Gassaway, E. B. King, Arnold Parrish, David Harrison, Don Huff and John Burrough. Services directed by Taylor Brothers Funeral home.

Markham Boy Killed In Auto Wreck Thursday Night
Howard Wendt Killed Almost Instantly When Car Collides With Parked Auto

Another of a series of various accidents occurred Thursday night about 7 o’clock just a few miles east of Markham when Howard Wendt, of Markham, was almost instantly killed when the car in which he was driving alone, ran into a parked automobile on the highway. The parked car had no lights and the young man was unable to swerve his car to pass when he was able to see the instrument of destruction looming in front of him.

Young Wendt, 20 years of age, was brought to the Loos Hospital by J. S. Mansfield and Victor LeTulle, but he was pronounced dead soon after. He was badly cut and broken. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Wendt of Markham.

Funeral service were held ___ morning at 10 o’clock from First Baptist Church with Rev. Odis Rainer officiating. Walker-Matchett was in charge of the [services].

Mary E. Wendt, 82, a resident of Markham for the past 60 years passed away at Methodist Hospital in Houston Tuesday, July 25. Survivors include: 1 son, Dan Wendt of Bay City; 1 brother, Ernest Harnden of Yoakum; and 3 granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27, at Taylor Brothers Chapel at 10 a. m. with the Rev. R. E. Black officiating. Interment will be at Cedarvale cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Dale and Jack Wendt, Daniel Cornelius, Hans Hiltpold, T. M. Dodd Jr., and Barton Johnson. Funeral services are under the direction of Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.
