Funeral services for Edward “Eddie” Sagissor, 60, of Sweeny will be at 2 p. m. Sunday, June 7, 1998 at the Bay City Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Klimple officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.

Sagissor died Thursday, June 4, 1998 at Herman Hospital in Houston s the result of a truck accident in Eagle Lake.

He was born Nov. 30, 1937 in Plainview, Minn. to George and Edna Prebe Sagissor.

He is survived by his mother, Edna Sagissor of Plainview, Minn.; three sons, Edward Sagissor of Sea Tac, Wash., Robert, and David Sagissor of Bay City; two daughters, Patricia Kaiser of Markham, and Judy Rinando of Houston; a sister, Marian Adams of Markham; three brothers, George Sagissor of Hougan, Mont., Fred Sagissor of Northrop, Minn., and Leo Sagissor of Lewellen, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and a lot of friends from Sugar Shack in Sugar Valley.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Sagissor.

Pallbearers are Billy Ware, Billy Glover, Michael George, Jesse Findlay, George Lapp, and Frank Ryman.

Arrangements are with Bay City Funeral Home.

Genevieve A. Sanchez, 75, of Bay City passed away February 21, 2020. She was born January 30, 1945 in Glen Flora, TX to the late Belen Alameda and Narcissa Guerra Alameda.

Nieve was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with all of her family and friends. She was a loving and caring person who touched the lives of many. She is going to be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Federico Sanchez Sr.

Survivors include daughter Martha Ann Longoria; sons Federico Sanchez Jr. & his wife Annalisa L. Sanchez and Joe D. Sanchez & his wife Gina G. Sanchez; sisters Mary Gonzales and Christina Alameda Pedraza; brothers Albert Alameda Sr., Donald Alameda, Belen Alameda Jr. and Frank Alameda Sr.; grandchildren Amanda Chavez, Crystal Chavez, Cody Longoria, Jaime Nava Jr., Alyssa S. Espinoza, Joe Daniel Sanchez Jr., Branden Sanchez, Michael Garay, Jonathon Sanchez, Tiffany Sanchez and Cecily S. Trevino and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with a rosary service at 6:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.  Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services for Jay Oakford Serrill, 71, of Galveston will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Galveston, with the Rev. Scott Turner officiating. Burial will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Cedarvale Cemetery, Bay City.

Visitation will be after 2 p. m. today at Malloy and Son Funeral Home, Galveston.

Mr. Serrill was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Bay City and died July 12, 1987, at his residence.

A retired mechanical draftsman, he was a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Old-Timers Early Bird Net and Trinity Episcopal Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force during World War II and a ham radio operator, call numbers K5MGY.

Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Serrill and Kathy Caldwell of Fort Myers, Fla., and Susan Lowe of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Steve Serrill of Manvel; two brothers, George E. Serrill Jr. of Bay City and Philip Gardner Serrill of Aransas Pass; nine grandchildren; and several other relatives.

Pallbearers include Richard Serrill Sr., Richard Serrill Jr., George Serrill, Gardner Serrill, John Barber Serrill, Franklin W. Carnes Sr., David Marshall and Greg M. Samford.

Honorary pallbearers include Michael D. Carnes, Franklin W. Carnes III, Jay P. Carnes, Michael W. Stevens, Fred J. Sweeney, Raymond E. Freeman Sr., Henry Card Jr. and Vernon S. Lock.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

As in their earthly home, Hartman Alvin Soli and Hattie Fay Smith Soli have experienced their Heavenly Rebirth together.

Hartman Alvin Soli was born June 14, 1919 in Pierce County, near Martell, Wisconsin to Henry Curtis Soli and Nina Ramburg Soli. Hartman was reborn into Heaven October 9, 2000.

 

Hattie Fay Soli was born November 14, 1920 in Matagorda County, Bay City, to William Harry Smith and Lizzie Will Morris Smith. Fay was reborn into Heaven October 10, 2000.

 

They were married on June 19, 1943 and are survived with love through two sons and daughters-in-law Keri Hartman Soli and Donna Daggy Soli of Houston, Teri Cullen Soli and Nimette Hargis Soli of Stokes, North Carolina; one grandson Kreg Hartman Soli of College Station; two granddaughters Kerin Jennifer Soli Caka of Conroe, Texas and Krista Marie Soli of Greenville, North Carolina; two brothers Orlan Alton Soli of Leawood, Kansas, also survived Hartman.

 

"Hart" was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City serving as Deacon and Elder Treasurer, Clerk of the Session, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, President of the men of the Church and Committee Chairman for the seventy fifty anniversary of that church. He was also Cub Master of Pack 51 in Bay City. In World War II he served his country for five years in the U. S. Navy Air Corps, as a flight instructor and as a fighter pilot, VF-7, aboard the USS Hancock, CV-19 in the Pacific. For that service he was decorated with the Navy Cross and three Air Medals. After release from the Navy, he completed his college degree and moved to Bay City in 1947, where he worked for the First National Bank and later became connected with the rice industry. In 1960, he became affiliated with oil well drilling companies as Controller until his retirement.

 

Fay was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City serving as Deacon and Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Circle Chairman, Chancel Choir member, and assisted in the organization of the Lay Pastoral Care Committee. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, President of the Pilot Club, and member of the Book Review Club, Study Club and DAR. She was affiliated with the Bay City ISD and helped to organize the Coordinated Vocational Academic Education Program at Bay City Junior High School. Of late, she was also a member of the Doman Freeman Phillips Trust Fund Committee and responsible for advising on the architectural design of the Independent and Assisted Living apartments currently under construction at Matagorda House (Legacy).

 

Honorary pall bearers are the active and inactive Elders of the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City.

 

Visitation hours will be 2 to 5:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2000 at the Bay City Funeral Home.

 

Graveside services for the immediate family will be at Cedarvale Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2000. A memorial service for all that wish to attend a Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Bay City at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow.

ROBERT LEE TREVINO

BAY CITY - Robert Lee Trevino, 60, passed away Dec. 24, 2010 in Houston. He was born Sept. 7, 1950 in Bay City to Carlos Trevino and Consuelo Hernandez.

He is survived by his father, Carlos; step-mother, Lydia Trevino; mother, Consuelo Hernandez; daughter, Trisha Trevino; son, Robert (Jessica) Trevino Jr.; sisters, Cynthia (Roxanne) Trevino, Michele (Joe) Badajosa; brother, Rodney (Frances) Trevino; grandchildren, Alex, Selena, Anthony, Randy Jr., Kelsey and Joel Trevino; great-grandson, X'ayde Troy Trevino; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by son, Randy Trevino; sister, Maria (Muca) Sanchez; brother, Charles Trevino Jr.; grandparents, Maria Herrera, Jose Trevino, Maria Silva and Esteban Hernandez.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

Funeral Services Held Monday For L. W. Urban

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Lloyd Warren Urban, 57, who died Saturday night at 11:30 o’clock. Mr. Urban is survived by his wife; his son, Lloyd Jr., his sister, Mrs. Karoline Cowie of California.

Funeral services were under the direction of Taylor Brothers with the Rev. Marvin Vance officiating. Burial was in the Cedarvale Cemetery.
