C. W. Mangum, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Mangum, Jr., passed away yesterday morning.

Funeral services were held from the home yesterday afternoon at 3. Walker-Matchett Funeral Home was in charge.

Dorothy Reynolds Marsters
May 3, 1931 – January 13, 2024

Dorothy Reynolds Marsters (Dot), 93, of Bay City, TX went peacefully to be with our Lord and savior on January 13, 2024.

She was born in Frankston, TX on May 3, 1931, to Lois (Hardee) and Hubert M. Reynolds. Everyone who knew Dorothy knew that she never met a stranger. She was a devoted nurse up until the time of her retirement in 1995. She loved her job as Director of Nursing at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi where she met the love of her life, her husband, Judson F. Marsters Sr. She was so incredibly proud of her beautiful daughter, Dr. Melani Freeman and the amazing work she did as a veterinarian. Dorothy’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her granddaughters and loved being their Meemaw.

Dorothy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Judson F. Marsters Sr.; her beloved daughter, Dr. Melani Freeman; brother, James H. Reynolds; her sister, Kay Gouger and brother-in-law, James Gouger.

Dorothy is survived by her granddaughters, Rachel (Dave), Kristen (Zack); great grandchildren, Piper, Tripp, Merrick, Bregman and Brooks. She is also survived by nieces, Kathy Palafox (Gerald), Margaret Carr (Tommy), Donna Richardson (J.M.); nephew, Jim Reynolds (Charlcie); and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will have a memorial for Dorothy at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City on February 22, 2024 at 12 p.m.
