David Lee Breeden

Funeral services for David Lee Breeden, 36, of Lake Jackson, are scheduled for 2 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 1994, at Lakewood Funeral chapel with the Rev Mike O’Neil officiating. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday, Dec. 2 and from noon to 2 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Breeden was born Sept. 1, 1958, in Ft. Worth, and died Dec. 1, 1994, at Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston.

Formerly of Houston, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Houston. He worked as a social worker for the M. H. M. R. A. for a number of years.

Survivors include his parents, Martha and Bobby Breeden of Lake Jackson; a sister, Susan Breeden of Houston; three aunts, Mary Nell and her husband Charles Quartararo of Canyon Lake; Anna Lee Haring of Bay City and Mary James Breeden of Bay City; seven cousins, Lee Haring, Bob Haring, Linda McGowan, Larry Shaffer, Jim Breeden, Bob Breeden and Mary Claire Pollard.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Verser and Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Breeden.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Lake Jackson.

Arrangements are with Freeport Funeral Home of Freeport.

Martha Louise Breeden
March 3, 1931 - September 28, 2017

Martha Louise Verser Breeden of Lake Jackson went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 29, 2017. She was born in Bay City, Texas on March 3, 1931. Martha was a cheerleader and drummer in high school. Upon graduation, she attended University of Arkansas. Martha returned to Bay City, and took a job at the County Courthouse. In 1952, she married a hometown boyfriend, Bobby Lee Breeden. Martha and her husband Bobby were members of the Presbyterian Church in Freeport and then Lake Jackson. She was employed by Dow Chemical in 1952 but resigned in 1958 upon arrival of their son David. She became a stay- at- home mom for the next 25 years. With daughter Susan born in 1962, Martha remained busy as a chauffeur and cook. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bridge. Upon David and Susan’s graduation from the University of Texas in Austin she continued playing bridge and playing with her cats. Later she returned to the workforce and was employed at Lake Jackson City Hall until retirement in 1994. Martha was preceded in death by parents Martha Moll and Hubert A. Verser, son David, and sisters Mary Nell Quarterero, Anna Lee Walters, and brother-in-law Steve Walters. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Bobby, of Lake Jackson, daughter Susan Breeden and husband Jeff Garcia of Houston, four nephews Lee Haring, Jim Breeden, Bob Breeden and wife Susan, Larry Shaffer, two nieces, Mary Claire Pollard and husband Kent, Faith Robin Michaels, brother-in-law Charlie Quarterero, and several great nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 6pm until 8pm Monday at Lakewood Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be 2pm at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, Texas.

Jesse Eikenberg

Jesse Eikenberg, age sixteen years, died at the Bay City hospital yesterday after a brief illness and was buried in the Cedarvale Cemetery at 2 o’clock this afternoon, the Rev. J. R. Carter of the Methodist church, officiating.

Funeral services were held at the church this afternoon after which the body was conveyed to the cemetery accompanied by many friends and the relatives of the young man.

The Tribune extends its deepest sympathy.
