Guadalupe Garza Ramos

Guadalupe Garza Ramos, 83, of Wadsworth [Matagorda County, Texas], passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2002 in Bay City. She was born July 20, 1919 in Boling, TX to Mike and Delores Garza Ramos. She was a resident of Wadsworth since 1950 and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Wadsworth and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City.

She is survived by her brother: Manuel Ramos of Bay City; by her nieces: Lala, Chona, Mona, Susie, Regina, Sylvia, America, Conception, Barbara, Delores, Lupe, Mary Jane, Margaret, Oralia "Cookie" and Virginia; and by her nephews: Soni, Manuel, Levi, Grabel, Stacey, Gerald, and Oscar Ramos and Greg Palmisano. She was preceded in death by her parents and by numerous sisters and brothers.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2002 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2002 with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will be at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

Danny Joe Reed


Danny “Joe” Reed

Danny “Joe” Reed, 59, of Bay City (Selkirk Community), died April 24, 2003 at his residence. He was born August 13, 1943 in Jetmore, Kansas to the late Morris E. and Elmerta M. Yeager Reed. Joe was a resident of Selkirk the past 8 years and was a member of the Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and then worked in the Nuclear Power Plant Industry for 32 years, the last 7 with the Washington Group at the South Texas Project near Wadsworth.

Survivors include: wife, Judy Manion Reed of Selkirk; sons, Michael J. Reed of Edna, Texas, Mark E. Reed and wife Shana of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Danny W. Reed of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; sisters, Betty Nilhas of Dodge City, Kansas and Alice Price of Fayettville, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Cody Reed and Richelle Corbin both of Grand Junction, Colorado.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Chaplain Don Story from Hospice Houston officiating.

Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tim Valleley, Bill Howeth, Terry and Larry Robinson, Don Henry, and James Kamenski. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Hogan, Lee Wayne Karl and Jim Kamphefner. A special thanks to Hospice Support, Inc. especially Amy, Jackie and Grace for all their support and love during this trying time.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Support, 1102 N. Mechanic, El Campo, Texas 77437.

Rincon Services Held Here Today

Services for Merejildo Rincon, 64, a Bay City resident who died Saturday in Houston, were held at 11 a. m. today at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment followed in Cedarvale Cemetery.

Rosary was held at 6 p. m. Sunday evening at Taylor Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Clementa Rangel Rincon.

Pallbearers were Juan Valdez, Paul Lozano, Nick Flores, Manuel Olvera, Manuel Vasquez and Henry Charles.
