Collegeport Day Set Sat, May 21

The annual observance of Collegeport Day will be held Saturday, Mar 21st, at the Mopac Community House in Collegeport. The covered dish luncheon will be served at noon. Every one is urged to bring a covered dish. As this is Homecoming Day, all ex-residents are most cordially invited.

Somebody Help Me!

Roland Jenkins of Collegeport didn't have much of a chance, when this group of hungry girls converged on him and helped themselves to his plate of food Saturday at the "Collegeport Day" barbecue. Just as Roland thought he was all set to enjoy his dinner in a nice quiet place under the trees, he found himself surrounded by Lynette Jenkins and Bonnie Maddox of Collegeport; Susie Reneau, Mary Ann Brune and Gladys Cepak, all of Palacios; Bettye Forest and Carole Penland of Bay City.

Collegeport Day Program Attracts More Than 300
51st Observance

It was a wonderful day in Collegeport Saturday when over 300 residents, ex-residents and visitors got together for their fifty-first "Collegeport Day" celebration.

The weatherman was kind and provided a perfect day for the activities which included a barbecue and covered dish luncheon, served on the spacious grounds of the Mopac House.

Beginning in 1909, the community has observed this annual occasion without missing a single year, according to a longtime resident of Collegeport. "There was a time when it seemed impossible to hold the reunion," said the spokesman, "due to circumstances brought about by the war but, the late H. A. Clapp and the late Seth Corse, early a bringing a sack lunch each, and ate at the Mopac, in order that the annual tradition of "Collegeport Day" would not be disrupted.
